"Short" suspension question

First off, I wanna say that Ive searched and searched and searched, seen Tim skelton's and others' sites and read a whole bunch on this site. Just have a few questions... Im in the market for a full suspension kit...I dont drag much, I drive maybe 20k a year, but enjoy a firm/stiff suspension(almost bone jarring), not looking for a low drop like the roush, drive hard on the street, and track it(road course) maybe once or twice a year... Ive decided on Stans springs in the front and hotchkis for the rear, as well as hotchkis sways and qa1's...just need advice on the details...Which setup would result in the most neutral, and best handling? Is 1100lbs too much, as in "rattle my car to peices" too much? Or is it firm but acceptable.

1) 1100lb coils and "old" firmer hotchkis? (Are the old hotchkis leafs still available?)

2) 1100lb coils and new softer hotchkis leafs?

3) 1000lb coils and "old" hotchkis?

4) 1000lb coils and new leafs?

How much do stans springs go for?

THANKS FOR ANY HELP!!!

Stan can do any spring rate you want, sinse you are going with QA1's and Hotchkis sway bars I would go with 750-850 spring rate in the front. If you had a 2002 or older I would tell you to keep the stock rear spring and go with shackles, but since you have a 03 I guess the Hotchkis rears will work good. Maybee get a set of stock 02 rear springs, and put sone shackles on them. The stock 01-02 rear springs are pritty cheep.

I feel with the hotchkis sway bars, QA1's a 750 or 850 front spring will give you a awesome ride and handling. The stock springs are 650 spring rate, so going up to a 750 or 850 will firm up the ride, but not rip your fillings out over every bump. The Hotchkis sway bars will keep the truck more level and stable while cornering. The QA1's will allow you to tune to that combo od srings and sawy bars.

I have the old Hotchkis front springs(960 spring rate) QA1's and just ordered some softer front springs from Stan along with a set of Hotchkis sway bars.

Stans front springs go for between $125-$150

Not sure if you know, but Stan can also get you the hotchkis sway bars and prob the rear springs.

Well right now I have the stock sway bar setup.

And yes one reason for the change is drag strip performance, but another reason is to make the truck more conforrtable over the long run.

Stans front springs, and the Hotchkis sway bars should be the hot ticket. Talk to Stan.

THanks, is does anyone here already have a set of stans 1000 or higher rate springs installed that could add some input?

Mrm, not sure on here, but there are some folk on the NLOC road race forum that have 1100 and 1200lb springs from stan.
