Where to run power for amp? Help
I tried doing a search but couldn't come up with a good place to route the power line. It's 4 ga and was wondering if using the hole under the door sill is good or not. I'm putting in a used JL 500/1 and was just looking for advice on getting power from the battery. Thanks
Might want to check out the audio section.
I ran my 8 gauge thru the hole in the firewall right next to the brake pedal. You can see the black rubber plug from the engine bay and its close to the brake fluid resevoir. Im not sure how easy it is to get to the hole in the door sill from the engine compartment. Good luck.

I ran a 4 gauge for my amp. I connected it, mounted the fuse case on the back wall of the engine bay, ran the wire through the rear shroud over to the driver's side. Then I ran it through the firewall plug (which will need to be modified) and then under the kick plate on the drivers side. (plastic trim) It has a channel under it perfect for running wires. For a ground you're better off running it strait from the amp to the floor.
If you have a sub box, then bolt the ground wire down to the floor under the box so its not visable....also, you will want to bolt the actual sub box to the floor for safety and security.

Thanks for all your great replies. Maybe I'll just get someone to do it. With how my day is going, I should probably stay away from sharp instruments, which is very tough with the business I'm in.

Cant wait till 6
I ran a 0 gauge from the battery, down the fender liner, up through the grommet in the passenger side door sill, then to a distribution block. Then ran two 4 gauge wires off of it and one 8 gauge.
