I just saw these pics on a local houston website and my local street racing website. I know a bunch of chicagoians went to texas to woop up on a couple of texas cars...... I was just wondering if the lightning and cobra were anyone here??
BLOWN318, what the hell are you thinking?! Street racing is a huge crime man, and it is DANGEROUS!!! Imagine if a family of four pulls out (lol pulls out) in front of you? You will for sure kill them upon impact. You need to grow up man, and focus on life.
Did you win any races??

It's called organized street racing. They have had it forever around here. I've never heard of any clubs in my area but that doesn't mean they don't exist.
This type of street racing in Memphis is always in an industrial area usually on Sunday night. There is usually no traffic at all and held in a prime spot for no thru traffic.
I have only heard of one death which happened 10-15 years ago.
I use to go and spectate years ago when I owned sportbikes. Most of the cars than show up for this kind of racing were in much better shape than some of the crap that shows up at the track.
It's still illegal so once or twice a year the police would show up an make a few arrest of people racing. Sometimes the cops were cool with it if there was just bikes. They would hang out for a little while to make sure things were orderly and then leave. Sometimes they would get on their speaker and say "Break it up" making everyone leave.

Holy crap! I can't believe the trailered cars. If ***** went down I imagine both your car and truck could be impounded. I don't have much problem with stuff thats done in a safe place like that, but I can't imagine the risk of bringing a trailer queen! Do these guys put up big bucks or what? Do you have blockers/spotters for cops?
Aaron,
That is the first time I've seen trailer queens myself. They must be really organized down in Texas.
It would probably be a safe bet to say they only race each other and keep the location to themselves. They probably don't want any outside jockeys to come and screw things up.

It's like asking someone from Maine if they know someone in Mass.
