Line lock- Will it save our rear ends

What's a warranty????
Heh heh
I'm just nervous about the chance of voiding my warranty when I get a new Lightning this coming Summer/Fall. It sounds like Ford is VERY strict with the modification rules.
Would lowering the truck, putting some aftermarket gauges, throwing on a new exhaust, and a new stereo/system void a warranty? I'm thinking that the first thing I'll do when I get my L is drop it, since in my opinion, they look WAY too high. I figure a line-lock would also be a good idea as well, since I'll probably take it out to the local track from time to time.
Lowering the truck and a catback exhaust will not void your warranty. I would be careful with the gauges, they shouldn't give you crap about them. You might run into problems with the dealer if you do a hack job on the wiring and start running into electrical gremlins.

The short answer to your question is YES.It will definatley save wear and tear on *all* moving rear end parts. Some more than others but it will definatley be worthwhile if you do alot of burn outs.Plus in the long run its not just brakes you will be shortening the life of.You will be saving clutches, calipers from overheating and boiling fluid, and it will actually save your transmission quite a bit too.You got to remember the less strain it takes to turn those tires, the less stress on *all* moving parts,If you want to be technical,Even your engine will be helped.

less stress is good all aroundabout the line lock, i dont think ford would give you crap about it as you are not really modding the truck in a harmful way (i.e. pulley or chip)
all the other mods you will be fine with, they would have no reason to void you, just make sure you do a quailty job on the radio install
if you can talk to your dealer's service manager and asak about the line lock (never hurts to ask) before you do it
tell him you would like to race the truck on occasion and this is the only mod you have planned till yoiur warrenty runs out
after all ford built these truck's to be raced
its like telling someone who just bought a 00 R not to drive over 65 mph and go easy in the corners

Depending on your dealership and how low you go. They can and will void a lowered L.
They will say you changed angles (pinion and such) and that caused problems or that you bottomed out . Its goes on and on.
You should check with the dealer you will be working with to see what they do and don't allow.
FoMoCo is looking at us very carefully ( not that I care anymore, I think my warranty is void
