built block question

When purchasing a built shortblock from a vendor such as JLP, is there a lot of labor or additional parts needed for the swap? I wouldn't be doing this myself but just curious as to what all is involved. The way most of these built blocks are advertised (complete engine, balanced, blueprinted) there isn't much to do but swap in the new with the old.

There is still some expense in the "small parts", like head gaskets are about $150 for the pair, plus other misc. gaskets, sealants, fluids.
I spent about $500 in small parts like ARP head studs were $176, oil pan and gaskets and misc. was another $300.
I had also bent a few valves when the motor was destroyed and that was another $300.

Hope this helps!!

Thanks, what would labor normally cost for this?
