My 02 has the keypad on the door and I have no idea what the code is. Is there a way to get this code? Im going to call ford tomorrow and see what they say.

hey look by the back of your E brake pedal and then look straight up...it will be there written on a white sticker. There will be some wiring in the way but its there.

Just an FYI ....

My old SHO (1990) had a keypad and you could reprogram the factory code to one that you alone know. I did this to mine in order to have a code that was easier to remember. Assuming the new L's offer this same option, the code may not match the one printed on the sticker. (I'm assuming you are not the original owner.)

From what I remember, there is a factory code that always works, and you can program in two codes of your own choice.

The faactory issue code will always work and can never be changed/deleted.

When I bought my Screw the dealer told me that you can reprogram it, BUT if you disconnect the battery (or it dies) it will forget your code and default back to the factory code.
So I just chose to memorize the factory one.

How to set your own personal entry code

IMPORTANT: Every step outlined in every procedure below must be done within five(5) seconds of the previous step.

Programming your own personal entry code
Enter the factory-set code (keypad will illuminate when first digit is pressed).
Press the 1/2 control.
Enter your personal 5-digit code.
Your personal code does not replace the factory-set code. You can use either code to unlock your vehicle. Each time you set a new personal code the module will erase the previous one in favor of the new code.

Deprogramming (erasing) your own personal code and leaving only the factory-set
Enter the factory-set code.
Press the 1/2 control.
Press the 7/8 and 9/0 controls at the same time.
The system will now only respond to the factory-set code.
