Leaf springs on a Lightning/Harley are "Made in Mexico".

Most, if not all, of your computer wiring harness is "Made in Mexico".

And I would bet a lot more of the cast iron and steel parts on your precious Lightning is also made in Mexico.

But the Lightnings are manufactured in Oakville, Ontario until the end of nex year. Some parts may come from Mexico but the majority are from the U.S. and Canada and mostly made by Magna International.

All the leaf springs come from Mexico.
Mexico makes the F150, it is called the LOBO and is not for sale in the US.

Ford does not let the Mexicans build the Lightning, No Way!
(they have the Canadians build it)

Well, since it is well known that the srt 10 is nothing but a turd, you have to ask yourself...Do you want a mexican turd or an American turd? One has a higher bean content (stinky) and one has a higher potato content. I'll take an American turd, less messy and stinky!!!!

Mexican content in US built vehicles

After a significant increase throughout the 80's and 90's the Mexican built parts content has been decreasing in the last 5 years mainly due to their high level of defects and general poor build quality. What is rapidly emerging, are parts manufactured in China and Asia in general. AApex at the Sema show had 50% of a large building dedicated to current and future suppliers from those contries.

Just take a look at the wonderful paper cone speakers in your doors. The new F150 has a significantly higher asian content, in some cases at the expense of previous Mexican suppliers.

In any case, my opinion relates to vehicles assembled in Mexico.

If you love Mexican built automobiles, please feel free to buy one and if it happens to be an SRT-10, get ready to be embarassed by a bunch of Lightnings that have you in their sights..

You may want to do your own research and let us know. You can check the statistics from these manufacturers: Acura, Volvo, GM, Chrysler, Ford, Honda and I'm sure I'm forgetting a few.

SVT Focus is not built anywhere else, so how can you say that it's the Mexican assembly? SVT Focus is a new cylinder head, intake, exhaust, trnamsission, interior, electronics, suspension, etc. etc...... are none of it's problems associated with it's design or implementation? You cannot pin it's problems on assembly without knowing exactly the root cause behind the problem.

Well Gente , if you are a bean eating (potato hating), Chihuahua lovin', suck at hockey playing, enjoy "*****ty" parts person like myself, buy a SRT 10.

What an argument, SRT 10's suck because they are made in Mexico. Once one starts to run out of excuses the BULL***** really starts to increase.

Potatoes suck BTW.
