Put In A K&N Last Night

I have about 10k miles on the L and it was suprising how dirty the paper filter was. There was even a small rock and some leaves in the filter box. Haven't really driven it yet to see if I can notice any diff. Hopefully I will get it out this afternoon.

I also purchased a JL500 amp off of EBAY. Looking forward to hooking up my single 10" sub.

The JL 500/1 is an a excellent amp. What sub and other components are you going to use in your system.

I'm using an Infinity sub. I built my own box and I am just plannig on using the factory head unit. I've already installed some Pioneers quite awhile ago. I am pleased with them, although it took awhile for them to break in.

Do yourself a favor, and while you're installing the K&N filter, take the complete airbox unit out, and cut some holes in the bottom of the airbox....................you'll DEFINITELY see a difference there; just take a look at your boost gauge!!

If you run a search on this topic, you'll find several threads regarding this.

Enjoy,
jc

I almost did that but I plan on keeping it stock for awhile. I do not usually keep my vehicles for too long, (a couple of years) so the mods I usually keep to a minimum. Besides I felt that cutting holes in the box is great for the winter, but I can't see much advantage to sucking in super heated air in the warmer months. I could be wrong, and most likely I am, but oh well.
Happy Holidays

At that rate i bet you hit 20,000 before me. Cutting holes in the bottom of the air box shows a nice improvemnet on my autometer boost gauge.
