Ethanol or MTBE

California Winter Gas is a Pain. I 've noticed that some Gas Stations are using Ethanol as an additive while others are using
MTBE ( Methyl Tertiary Butyl Ether )

I was wondering if anyone had any insight on which additive would be the best of two evils for our trucks Performance. 91 octane is bad enough but w/these winter clean air additives our gas needs

I dont really know the difference in the two additives, but I know here in NY all Amoco Stations have the 10% Ethanol...so I would assume its pretty good..I'm a lil mad that they stopped my Sonoco 94....next to that the best is Amoco Ultra 93, dunno if I helped at all but if I went to Cali I would go with an Ethanol Station if given the choice, simply cuz thats whats here.

PS....it was the Amoco 93 that I dynoed at 359.2hp at the rear wheels w/ only a JLP Intake and Magnaflow CatBack Exhaust
