Question gears question

Ok, since I got my chip reburned I 've noticed that when my truck shifts into 3rd gear at about 3500 rpms it seems to fall on its face (actually it studdars real bad for a second or 2)! according to the gages it isnt losing boost or dropping rpms but there is a definate change (DROP) in the supercharger whine. Havent ben able to figure out why BUT now I believe its because I dont have stock gears. It was burned for 3.55's (2000 model) and now I have been told by someone that new the guy that had this truck before me, that he had put 3.73's in it. Anyway, I am assuming this could definately cause the problem I am having. Is there anyway I can tell by looking which gears I have? please help!!

Since no one is jumping on this I guess theres no way to tell what gears you have by looking under the truck or anything?

Mark and carefully count the rotations of the driveshaft to one rotaion of the tires. 3 1/2 vs 3 3/4.

usually it is stamped on th gears.
pop the cover off and look, then put the lid back on and spend $80 in fluid to refill.
