Exhaust question
Exhaust question
Question: If I remove the pipes coming from the exhaust on my Bassani, the ones that curve out to the side exit coming right off the exhaust, will it sound much different?? And will I get more cabin noise?? My exhaust guy messed up and fitted it wrong so the tips stick out about 6" from the truck and it looks like sh**. I want to just unbotl the pipes and leave it like tyhat...good idea or not??
How the he11 can you screw up a Bassani installation. It is a direct bolt on. I wonder if he used the stock braces....... clueless.
The side exhaust tips are part of an L's charm! And I would be willing to bet you can guarrantee increased cab noise!
Screw taking them off, take it back and demand he do it right or take it some where else. I installed mine in an 1.5 and that was a first attempt at installing an exhaust.
Good Luck!

If you take those pipes off, your truck will sound like it has headers on it and the cabin noise is almost unbarable. Mine fell off a couple weeks ago and it sounded horrible. You'd be better off to take it back and have the guy fix his mistake.
Dan, thats a good question, I asked him the same thing after it was done, but he was crunched for time and couldnt go back and fix it....I had him transfer DynaTech LT's high flow cats andd the Bassani from my HD to the L. I would assume cabin noise would raise but by how much do you think?? I also love the side exit but it might be cool to be a little different.
I bet you the pipes running from the high flow cats to the Bassani took it off alignment.
I don't know how much louder it will be, but I can tell you I moved to the Dynatech longtubes, highflow cats and Magnaflow and the difference from the Bassani was night and day. If the suggestion is correct above, from eng, " it will sound like headers" you are in for a significant difference in sound!
Maybe you should tell him you don't have time to pay him until he gets it right. Plus I don't know if you would be causing any risk or damage to the under carriage with all that exhaust pumping out.

It's not only gonna **** of your neighbors, it sounds absolutely sick inside the cab. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE a loud exhaust, but taking those pipes off, makes a HUGE difference. Just my two cents.
