Well first off what kind of chip do you have?

You can't go to JDM w/ a Diablo chip and vise versa w/ Johnny and a superchip.

yea i know that vinnie, its a Diablo delta chip..........i have a few SV's to choose from and then I'm sure a ton of other "tuners" as well. its just that you get raped if its not from them.......and i was hoping my tuner would be helpful rather than forcing me to go with someone else

Ruination,

I'd be more than happy to hook you up with a SuperChip that's been finely 'tuned' by one of the vendors here. I sent it back since it was running at 12.5/1 across the board and told them I wanted it no higher than a 12/1 and preferably an 11.5/1. The new burn sent back dynoed at a sweet 13.5/1 on the first pull and over 14/1 on the second pull!!! Fortunately they were nice enough not to have charged me for that reburn...but they've yet to return my calls to discuss a new burn despite the fact that I sent them the dyno files and, since they weren't able to open my Dynojet files with their Dynojet software, I had to create a Word doc with Runviewer screen shots for them. Bahh...not in any hurry as it's only been a week. The Predator's looking better every day.

who cares what it costs for a reburn anyway....if you go with a respected vendor (JLP, PSP, JDM) then you should have a good tune right from the start....and with a flip chip or 4 way, you could have up to 4 different setups.....and even if a reburn costs $500, it's still worth it if your tune sucks or will create a situation where the tune is so aggressive that the colder weather makes your engine go boom (too much timing or really lean A/F), in which case you'll be out $5000 for a new engine.....

I've obviously gotten a bad tune or two from one of the big name 'tuners.' Fortunately I have a dyno at my disposal, so it's significantly easier for me to test A/F's than it is for the average chip purchaser.

The best way to get a price is to call various tuners and get a cost directly from them. What people pay on this forum isn't always relevant. Some get free reburns, but have invested thousands of dollars with that tuner for parts and other items. Others have free reburns because the tune was off. Some pay more and some pay less. Some say they pay less and have paid more. By asking the type of question you have, you're bound to get a variety of answers but won't know for sure how valid it is.
