At the time I had to idea that I had even hit any of the parts, so I thought that everything was just fine with my truck. I actually stopped at the turn off and offered to help him. He responded, "gosh, I think I must have broke something bad at the end of the track, maybe it was my driveshaft." I told him, "Your damn f&cking driveshaft flew out and nearly hit me." He didn't say anything else, and didn't even apologize. I should have pulled over to check my truck, but I still a little stunned at the moment. After finding out that it had in fact scratched my truck, I did ride around through the pits looking for him. Either he loaded it into an enclosed trailer or he left, because I never found him.

The damage isn't that big of a deal, since I know that I made the choice to put the truck at risk by racing it. A piece of metal could just as easily flown off a truck on the interstate and done the same thing. This morning I started to hear a strange noise coming from my electric fan when I started the truck up. Upon examining the truck I found a nice half dollar size dent in my radiator. It thankfully didn't break it, but it was damn near close. I am not sure what has f'd up my fan, but it wasn't like this before going to the track. I must have caught a bolt or chunk of metal right between the fins of the grill, because there were no scratches on the plastic at all. I really lucked out there as well.

I know that a DS loop will only catch the shaft if it breaks towards the ends, so I guess that nothing could really be done when it breaks right in the middle. How often does that happen???

Actually, I've heard stories before of this when cars have been struck with debris flying off trucks on the highway, the companys have fixed any damages, especially rocks cracking windows, as long as you can provide details. Luckly Ive never had to try it for myself.

BTW, I know what you mean, not trying to be a smarta$$
