Closeup of the same

It looks like I have a bunch of paper weights now, the crank looks nearly as bad as the rest of it and the block has a small hole in the side.
It looks as if #2 rod broke causing the rest of the motor to basically self destruct.

Oh Well, only a couple of more weeks and my new motor will be ready to install!!

Just curious. How many miles on the motor?
I can not believe the (sludge) mess in the pan.
What oil have you been using?

The sludge is prolly antifreeze mixed with the oil. I've seen that too many times on my other cars when I had them

Thats nuts. Its amazing how mesy things can get when motors start to come unraveled. If youre going to greneade a block, it might as well be a total meltdown. Just out of curiosity, what exactly happened when the block let go? Was there any warning, or did it just explode.

The sludge in the bottom of the pan is a mix of coolant and oil, some of the rods took out coolant passages.

6400 miles on the motor

dynoed 492/572 in 90 degree heat on a conservative tune.
I had it pullied for 18psi but I had seen the gauge hit right at 20psi before it went Boom

I was on my way to a 11.8x pass ( based on the first 330') and it blew right before the 1/8 mile mark.

I just got word that my new shortblock should be shipping out on its way to me before the end of the week!!

Anyone have the part numbers for a complete gasket set for a 03 engine??
