Question This Is Odd

Ok, I have a stock 2000 or so I thought. My friend has a 2001 with chip, shift kit, and rolls on 20's and air filter. My truck pulls faster then his. My boost goes up a lot faster and i have no chip but my upper pully is about 1/4 inch smaller then his. That couldn't make that big of a differents can it? I thought you have to have a chip with a pully any help will be welcome....chris

it could have something to do with the chip...that'd be my first thought.

hopefully someone more knowledgeable will chime in.

on a side note, are yall a part of halo? what part of houston yall in? I am near katy myself and just got my L 2 months ago!

-Mike

on a side note, definately the reason his pulls harder has something to do with the dying part!

....there was something wrong with the wiring in the chip. He had to cut down the wires because he said they were picking up interference which caused the truck to die about 12 times every time i tried to go WOT.
I would talk to Sal and or Jubelands
Maybe they can help

It can happen and it is 'chip-related'. Happened to me at the track, at the 1/8th mark. I substituted another chip and had no more "shut off" problems. Btw, it's more than "embarrasing", it could cause a crash.

Sounds similar to what was going on with my chip. everytime i would attempt WOT the truck would die. I was told that it was due to the fact that the wires were picking up interference which is what caused the truck to die. We then cut the wires all the way down to the chip which solved the problem but at the same time got rid of my switch so now i only have one program available till i can get it fixed.

I was told that shielding the wires would help.

It's not a 'connection' problem. It's internal within the chip.

You can run pulleys without chips, but you won't experience the "true potential". It will, however, be noticeable (as you describe).
