Unhappy Saw a bad crash tonight

I was driving over to Barnes & Noble to study for my exams and passed a real bad wreck tonight. From what I could see, an SRT 4 collided with a Toyota 4-Runner. The front end of the 4-runner was really smashed up, but it looks like the main compartment didn't get hit very badly, so hopefully they got out alright. The SRT 4 on the other hand looked like it folded in on itself. As I drove by I could see that the driver and passenger were still in the car. The thing that disturbed me the most was the passenger side. It looked like that was the point of impact. The driver side door was open and but the guy inside did not appear to be moving. I didn't get a great look at the girl in the passenger seat, but what I saw didn't look good. I really hope they make it out of there.

I hate to be the party pooper but....I think we are seeing the end of the "modern muscle car" era real soon! Every car out there now has 2 million hp and next year there is a higher hp model. It has to stop somewhere. Cars are getting plain dangerous! Any meat bag can walk into a store and buy a 11/12/13 second car. Thats not cool if they drive like that on the street. There have been more fatal's from sports cars and street racing this summer than in a long time!

Just because someone has a wreck in a sports car doesn't mean it is a racing accident.

Perhaps there are simply too many people with drivers licenses...

I don't know whether the accident was racing related or not, but this is the second time I've seen an SRT 4 wreck...

Yes there are too many people with drivers licenses. I think there should be a mandatory retest at a certain age also.

Well I think the thing you would see first before muscle cars go away would be insurance rates to be jacked WAY up for any kind of performance vehicle bought by a young kid 16 – 25. Sad thing is most young kids in that age range are pretty responsible but if a good percentage of accidents in performance vehicles is happen in a particular age range then the whole age range gets jacked way up.

I think before it gets to that point that local and state legislators should actually pass some laws to deal with the few who can’t seem to get it through their head about street racing. Make the laws tough like $2,000 fine for first offence, second offense the kid loses the vehicle to the state, never to get back, as well as their license for a year. That way the majority of young people don’t get screwed by insurance and the ones that don’t get it, well, don’t get it any more (bye-bye vehicle, bye-bye driving privileges).

There is never a reason for street racing. The only ones that street race have NO clue about racing to begin with.

The entire area was sealed off by the cops. The emergency crews were already there. I doubt there was much I could do to help the situation...

it's not just kids buddy. I have raced men as old as 70 on the strreet. I have a buddy who is in his 40's and has a camaro he races on the street constantly.

It's all the old saggy balled men like u who don't know how to drive. old men like you with their huge brimmed fishing hats on, poping the viagra while driving are what casues accidednts. Stop playing with ur stick, and use the car's stick to shift.

Like being lumped in a large group? Didn't think so.

BTW, I am 17. Have no tickets. No accidents. In your eyes i am a bad driver (or strteet racer, which would constitute bad driver sue to excessive speed, or excessive acceleration from a stopped position) becasue i am a kid. Yeah, I AM a bad driver, but probobly better than you.

what constitues a street race anyways?

Say I am next to somone, and we both accelerate at a rate about average, ,but not overthe speed limit. Both having the intention of not racing, but moving forward to out destinations which we are both late to (and both seperate dedstinations). A bystandard may think we are street racing.

Car taken away for that?

Mabey it is u on ur way to pick up ur honey from bingo. Would YOU like that?
