Yanked a Z06

As i was cruising through Dallas, i pulled up to a Z06, oviously he reved me , and gave me the "letts race" stare and head ****. As the light turned green i just pinned down my gas and took off burnnen', He pulle don me for about 1/2 a second and then i just flew away , as you can imagne i was pumped out oif my mind. When we hit the next intersection he rolled down his window and informed me that his Tranee, would shift into 2nd. As let down as i was i still did it again and beat him , hahahah chevy punks ruining their trans.

interesting 2nd post. There is no way you "flew away" from a Z-06 with a stock Lightning if he was actually racing. If you were to pull at all, it would have been right off the line. Once you were both moving, theres just no way you'd pull on him. I have beaten a stock 03 Vette convertible with an auto at the track, but have been beaten soundly by Z-06's, although the first Z-06's were a bit slower than the new ones.

Please dont tell your BS stories here. Thanks.

Yeah Z06's are pretty quick. If you did race one and beat it like you say you did, good job.

Most run low to mid 13's stock. On average I would say 13.2 for a 6 speed and 13.4 for an auto. And they just get faster as the speed climb

ls1's are pretty fast bone stock. They run low 13's stock. The z06 will run 12's with a good driver. (bad traction and missing a gear may change things) But our trucks are hard to launch on the street also... It could have been a regular corvette a c5 (not a z06) Those aren't rockets. No offence to them, but they are mid 13 second cars... Driver error puts them righ up there with a stock lightning if not slower...
I wasn't there so I can't raise the bs flag and a kill is a kill (even if he was having problems getting into gear) but I think it takes more than a stock Lightning to keep up with a z06.

You need at least a chip, filter & 4# pulley to beat a "stock" Z06. That combination might not do it if the driver is real good. You are definitely not going to fly away from one.

I have raced a few at the track so I know how they run.

I would say dude just didn't know how to drive which gave you an easy victory.

Wink

First, a Zo6 is very nice, I was thinking about getting one about a year ago.
Second, they can be beat even with a stock Lightning.
Would a stock Lightning win three out of three? I don't think so. lol
But if the guy was having any kind of problem, like shifting gears he could loose the race to a stock Lightning.
Here comes the funny part and if you guys raise the BS flag on this I wouldn't blame you a bit. But, I had a witness, Don'sBolt was at the track to.
See Don was hoping to race one of the Zo6's that were there that night, but I got paired up with a yellow one instead, and yes it was one of the 405 h.p. ones. The funny thing was I wasn't racing with my Lightning, I was in My Sierra Denali. haha
The guy slep at the light and then wanted to catch me so bad that all he did was spin and miss a shift.
The real funny part was when the the guy in the tower saw us coming to the line he said over the PA "this should be a good race" real sarcastic, because in all reality I had no chance in Hell in beating him. But there goes to show you, they can be beat once in a while. haha
