I want to lower my truck but want to go with a 3/4 drop dose that mean i need to do a 4/5 th drop on a regular truck or a 3/4 drop on a regular truck also all i wont to do is change my front springs and rear shackels. I really like DJY1's drop but dont wont to cut anything i just wonted sonething i could do my self. also im rolling on harley 20" rims

My 2001 L also is running on a set of HD rims I got as a gift from my friend. I have them wrapped with Pirelli Scorpion Zeros (305/45/20). My L has the Belltech rear shackles and the Roush drop springs with Doestch tech shocks all around. I say the front has been dropped maybe 1 1/2" to about 2" and the rear is about 2" drop. Overall it gives the L a nice stance and is not too low. The L now corners a whole lot better and the ride is kinda stiff. Here is a pic of my L with the new setup:

Compared to stock f-150 -- lightings are lowered .5 in the front and 2 inches in the rear for 99-02 -- then the 03 is only lowered 1 inch in the rear

 

Justin, Regular F-150's do not come lowered 1 inch around like Lightnings. You are correct say you went with a Bell Tech 3/4 kit which is designed for Standard F-150's you are only getting a 2/3 drop. You should just buy the Sport Truck Direct 4/5 kit made for a Standard F-150 in order to get the 3/4 drop. You might have a hard time taking off the rivets on the rear Hangers they were a pain without a Air Chisel! If all you want to do is change your front coils and rear Shackels you will get a 2/2 drop my friend just did the Ground Force 2/2 kit made for a F-150 with just Coils and Shackles and his Lightning looks a little lower but not Slammed!

My truck has the Ground Force for the stander f-150 3/4 kit. The only problem is that my truck bottoms out on the shocks, so I have been trying to figure out how to fix this. I only had this truck 2 months.

 

Jkstang78, I hope you are not using the Stock Shocks! Are you sure your rear end is not bottoming out on the frame?

No there not stock shocks they are ground force shocks. I know this because, I had bought new ground force shocks, because I thought I had the stock shocks on it. When I took the old shock of it said Ground force on it. It is not hitting the frame anywear, It is definatly bottom out on the shock though. I only have about 1 inch of travle on both rear shocks. I have some stuff at work that will let me move the shock down. Its called kindorf and will let me use it as a shock extender. gunna see if that will help me.

 

Aside from the bottoming out, how does it handle...?? I'm interested in a drop, not sure which though....not necessarily for looks, but for cornering, etc...

 

get the lower shock mount extenders from so-cal speedshop---- will recover about two inches of shock travel-- I have the roush kit with two inch belltech and needed them for the shocks
