Plugging upper intake PCV tube

i read a post over at nloc where someone just stuck a dime in the tube that runs from the PCV vavle on the passenger side to the upper intake to stop oil from being sucked in.

Is this ok?

Thats all I did. Been working like a charm for 7,500 miles. I just haven't gotten around to changing the pcv valve yet.

what parts did you use to block the upper and lower parts of the egr?

The upper I made a plate to cover the hole, and fitted a couple bolts into. Sealed it to the upper intake with silicone. Bought some sheet metal (didn't have any) from Lowes for like a buck or 2, cut it to the exact size of the opening, then drilled 2 holes to fit the bolts into.

On the manifold, bought some brass fittings to cap off the manifold. They're standard 3/4" hose fittings (for your garden hose threads). Bought it at Lowes. A 3/4" adaptor, and then a cap. The hardest part is getting a wrench down there to tighten things up!

Whole project cost like 4 or 5 bux.

Let me know if you want pictures... I get the truck back later this week, and can pop some new digi-pics this weekend of the setup. I plan on putting everything back to "pre-dealer" setup

I have black sluge that drips from the bottom of the REM power tube onto the top coolant hose. Is this the mess you are talking about?

You talking about the oil issue? No pics needed on that one. Pretty easy to shove a dime or similar sized object into the upper tube, and change the PCV out on the valve cover...

As far as the EGR goes, I like it a LOT better than with it on... JMO, but it's cleaner looking, and a lot easier to get at the plugs now... And that is one thing I know too much about
