Sounds like he's has a 3.55 rear and you have a 3.73.
I have a 3.73 rear and at 70, I'm at about 2250 rpm.
Hope that helps.

Hmmm,

Ok, My first Lightning was a 02 and it had a 3:73 as does my 03 Lightning. I here of people going to 4:10 for launch power and other reasons although, you always run higher RPM's. What is the advantage to a 3:55 in a lightning you just as well get a XLT Reg Cab with a 5.4 if it is for fuel econmy issues.

My Y2K L turns 2070 rpm by the digital tach, and just a wisker past the 2k mark on the analog tach @ 70 mph. That's with the stock 3.55 gears. Mine pulls strong through 130, and tops out in the low to mid 140s depending on conditions.
