If you want higher octane gas selected Union 76 stations sell 100 octane unleaded racing gas. I have tried it in my 911 and it ran great! A little pricey at $4.25 per gallon.

Mine was pinging real bad at WOT, even from about 65 MPH, if you stomped it, it pinged. I just casually mentioned it ot Mike Troyer and he told me to try a different gas, (Sunoco 94 if you can get it) and it fixed it, right away. He told me if I couldn't get good gas, to try ading some octane booster to it. Just using a high octane is not always good enough, I was using BP 93 and it was pretty bad, but since I swithed to the Sunoco, it't been fine.

Hope this helps,

G

i live in ca where the highest octane pump gas i can get is 91, and i really dont want to have to constantly be mixing race feul into the tank, it's too heavy on the wallet.

I want to be able to run on just pump gas and not ping like mad. right now i am running on only 11* of timing which is rediculous, i need to solve this problem.

What are your air/fuel ratio(s)?

Did it ping before the 6 lb pulley and chip were installed? Your stock 1/4 mile numbers look good?

The BR7EF's and the 160 degree 'stat should be helping. Those are COLD plugs(I like mine.)

A restricted exhaust can cause pinging but I would doubt that for such a 'new' L??? Carbon buildup in the combustion chambers can cause it too but again; it's too new.
