To trade, or not to trade????

Ok guys, need some input. I can trade my 01 Sport Trac for a 1999 Lightning with 11k, completly stock except a nice cobra hood. I owe 20k on my Sport Trac (yes, im buried in it), there asking 21k for the L. My trade +2k out of my pocket.. Sounds good to me, any opinions? I have looked the truck over pretty well, and was taken care of by a 60yr old guy, but is there anything in particular I should be looking for (common problems ect..)

if you can drive it in the winter where you are, I definetly would go for it, sounds like a real good deal

i say go for the L, on the money side ,you say you are
buried in the sport trac, the L with low mileage
will hold its value better,so in time you will end up with
some equity in the truck instead of owing more than
its worth. on the fun side im sure youll enjoy the L
more than the sporttrac.

good luck

You must be reading my mind, I had the same thought. Any common problems I need to look out for? I know the 5.4 in and out, but have not had the pleasure of working on a SC 5.4. I have been reading this forum for awhile, and I have read of some common problems (angry plugs taking there leave, and somthing about pulleys?) With 11k, I doubt I will find anything serious, just want to go into the deal knowing what to look for and expect. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Before buying, not only run Carfax

but check with VIN the service/warranty history on it to see if there are recurring probs. Especially make sure intercooler replaced during recall. Good luck!

As stated already, look to make sure the intercooloer recall has been done, and it sounds like a good idea to me.
