May I suggest actually blending the rays as parts of the truck (shouldnt be that hard to do w/ photoshop or the likes...). I.E. The rays that are already there, and are brighter in the photo, pull them into creating the "Light'ning"

That's the exact look I was going for, but I couldn't manage to do it cleanly, so I left it like this. I'll keep messing with it.
