When acceleration exceeds factory limits, the boost actuator solenoid actuates the boost dump valve, relieving the sc's pressure until your L is shut down and restarted. The boost bypass mod will allow you to keep boost at the maximum level under WOT....hope this helps
Oh, ok I get it now. The factory always has to limit something.

Well its another cold day, I guess I'll be testing it again on the way home.

LightningCT thanks for clearing up the "boost bypass" mod. Would doing this cause any long or short term problems?

I've had my boost bypass for more than 8months now...My truck is a Daily Driver and I havent had a problem yet, and I drive pretty Hard....its fun to watch that guage get pinned at the limit.....oh and dont waste your money buyin the kit for 20bucks from vendors, you can make the kit for like 5bucks yourself.....All the details on how to make it yourself including the size of the "T" fitting is on www.rpmoutlet.com its simple to do and takes maybe all of 2mins to do....Have fun watching your guage pin itself

Blown5Pnt4 is exactly right with the boost needle pinned!! At WOT it's like the the needle is just stuck there the whole time

And no, it shouldn't cause any long term problems, but if you get a chip (regardless of who) make sure the tuner knows ALL your mods, even if you think it doesn't matter. These trucks run amazingly well with great tunes (as i'm sure Mat, Rob02, Vinnie and all the rest will attest to), but with a poor tune (whether it's you doing the tune, or someone else) you can pop a rod easily, especially in the cooler weather we've been having....

Make it easy on yourself an ask your tuner to disengage the bypass via your chip. It's the only way to fly.

Wouldn't it just be easier to unplug the boost bypass instead of buying a kit?

Also, when you mean get pinned, are you saying that it will go to full boost instead of it going up with the rpms when you go WOT?

Big Man quote:
to "unplug" it you need to take a T-fitting and connect your boost dump valve a certain way, or have it removed from your program via your computer chip. As for Boost, it does still go up with the RPMs but it if you stomp on it it gets to peak, faster and when your tranny bangs the 1-2, 2-3, or 3-4 you dont lose your built up boost. So you STAY at peak. If you dont get what I mean, go out in your truck and stomp on it keeping an eye on the boost gauge you hit the 1-2, you should notice it drops for a millisecond then returns to full....the ByPass makes it so it doesnt do that.
