I see why L's like cold weather!

Reading what people say about how L perform better in cold weather made me wonder why and how. Well now I know, at least why.

On the way home from work tonight, I was turning on to the road that leads to my house. Its completely stright for a little ways so I thought I'd floor it to just for the fun of it. It was 11:30 p.m. and a frosty 30. Well, it kicked down to 1st and boost went to 8 psi, then it hit second and as the rpms went up I saw the boost go up. At the top of second gear, the gauge hit 10 psi. I quickly let off the gas and creamed my pants. I cannot believe my L hit 10 pounds of boost. The truck is bone stock , still has the paper air filter.

L's Rock!!!!:rocker:

Perhaps it time for you to go to bed, drunken master.

Back to the L. I plan on getting the Airaid intake for my L, then a JDM singal blade T/B. I have the money but don't know where to get the intake from. That should help the S/C intake air better.

Now about that boost bypass, will the truck stay in boost all the time. Like driving on the interstate at 80 with the rpms at about 2500rpm. Iv seen my truck make 5 psi at that rpm in 4th with out shifting down. So hows this work?

Please no drunks.

Dude, don't waste $450 on a T/B yet! Very minimal gains from it itself. It will provide you with more gain after you are modded. It's fairly salty in price and you will not see any gain in your ET...maybe like 1/2 a tenth. Once you are modded tho (chip, pulley, etc) and then put the single blade on, you will reap a much larger benefit :rocker:

LOL Rob....I'm almost on that spot on the gauge with just my freshly installed 4# ! :rocker:

For the first time I too, felt the difference. Holy Smokes - took my L out this morning the outside temp gauge read 61 degrees (I know that sounds funny, but hey that is cool here in the tropics). What a difference, I couldn't believe it. I thought everyone was exaggerating about the cooler weather and the power difference. It was as if I added another couple pounds of boost. And call me crazy, but she just rocked out of the hole - there I go again having to learn to feather in cold weather.

Awesome!

D-Day

True that man. Get a 6#'er and experience a greater effect ALL the time. Then, wait till it gets cold. Holy chit!!! Oh wait, cold is 50 degrees for me. I couldn't image 30. I may just have to go to an 8#'er:devil: better yet KB!

The purpose of the boost bypass kit is to supply continuous boost from your sc when exceeding acceleration limits set by the factory computer (ie WOT). When acceleration exceeds factory limits, the boost actuator solenoid actuates the boost dump valve, relieving the sc's pressure until your L is shut down and restarted. The boost bypass mod will allow you to keep boost at the maximum level under WOT....hope this helps
