L vs. LT1
Call your friend back and race him from a stop. Racing from a role you are already giving him a big advantage. Do you have any other mods? Chip? Even with just a 4# lower, you should pull a stock LT1 by a couple car lengths. Assuming the LT1 is stock???

I would say that's good for even an LS1. They run mid to low 13's stock. There has been a hand ful dipping into the 12's (12.90) bone stock at perfect conditions... They are real nice cars. My buddy ran 13.4 and 13.2 in his ws6 with just a chip and exhaust. The ss is 6 speed and he runs 13.0 with full exhaust and a mass air meter I think. Both are real nice cars.

93-37 is Lt1 engine, 98-2002 is the ls1 engine. I dont know what makes the motors different, I just know there is a little difference in body style in the lt1's and the ls1 and they are different motors...

Well the Lt1, was in f bodys/vettes(i think vettes had them in 92?) from 93-97
Both 350 ci, Ls1's have much better flowing heads, thats where the big difference in power comes from. Both have aluminum heads, Lt1 has a cast block, Ls1 uses aluminum. The Lt1 uses some old technology with the "optispark" (distrib), but is still a great motor, stock for stock the ls1 is better, but once mods come into play (like they always do/will) its up for grabs....the Lt1 makes torque at low rpms, i like the torque band a lot more than in the Ls1.
Lt4 is a better version of the Lt1 with better heads, different cam, intake, rated at 330hp
Ls6 is a better version of the Ls1, Better heads, intake, diff cam, rated at 405 hp (Zo6 motor)
PS....Ls1=98-02 Z28's are rated at 305 hp.......ive seen 4 stock ones dyno at over 310 RWHP.....way underrated

Shane,
Most stock LT1 Z28's/Trans Am's run high 13's..13.8-9 to low 14's
most of the stock Lt1 Firehawks/Ws6 T/A with the real ram air like the hawk run mid 13's...my car bone stock ran a 13.4...ive seen 2 guys run 13.2's
thats freakin quick for a stock Lt1 car ...but these are also #'s I see down here in Houston...cars run quick down here.
