Thanks madness. You think getting a new 03 at x plan is less than finding a good deal on a used one in the spring privatly?
What is x plan price out the door?

Shane,
I just spoke to Jeff W. @ Rod Baker and he said they have about 10 cobra's on their lot right now. He told me he would give me one for 31K. Not sure how good that is but I will admit, it is tempting

i found a car that was stickered 35,900 + 800 for the chrome wheels and a 3000 market adjustment.. so... I called the sales manager, told him which car on the lot I wanted, and that I wanted to do xplan on it... (I purchased my L at the same dealership) he called me back, and for 33,404 i got the car... not sure what the final drive out price was.. I had a trade involved.

I know Jeff Walter's I used to work for him. I sold cars for RBF over the summer two years ago. They have the used black 03 I have been looking at for a while... Then they have a bunch of new ones... I just am not sure if I can get x plan for less than I can find a used one for in the spring... Thanks, Shane

If I got one i would want to spend between $26,000 and $28,000 used depending on the miles. My best bet is getting a good deal on a used one. Then if I ever need to sell it I wont be taking so much of a hit. I dont think I can find x plan, out the door for under 30k.
I'm not getting one now, I just wanted to get a feel for them as a whole. I know a lot of guys around here have them. I've heard great things about them. I've also heard some bad things about them. But no car is perfect. I just came to the conclusion that the Cobra would be a really fun car to drive. If I can afford to keep the Lightning and have the Cobra as a 2nd car, that'd be aewsome! That'd be the only way I'd do it for the record. I'm not getten rid of the Lightning I know that.
I just have to see how realistic it is to keep the truck, AND get the Cobra. There is no way to look at it, other than the fact that I'd be loosing money.
The car value will go down over time, no matter how much I get it for I am going to lose money when I sell a car. The money I put into it is money out the window. There's no way I am not going to put a penny into it. Then the money I have to spend for insurance a month is going to be more money wasted...
But if I die tomorrow and the money is sitting in the bank, then wouldn't the cash be wasted?

That's more in my price range. If I got one it would either have to be a really good deal on a new one or a deal on a used one in the spring time. Rod Baker does have like 10 of them on the lot still. I like sonic blue.

Those cars are a friggin blast. I have been fortunate enough to drive some fast 03 Cobra's............there is nothing like the top end charge of those cars.

Mash the gas at 110 in 4th gear and your over 145 before you know it

The Cobras are fun to drive just like the Lightnings, just a different kind of fun.

i sold this:

and purchased this:

and kept this:

The L is still the 'I'm in a truck and haul ***' that's good in traffic and daily driving duties.

The Cobra has more of a sportscar feel and is fun to shift. I'd say the Cobra has more quirks than the L due to 03 being the first year of the driveline.
