There may only be a few Works blowers out right now, but at least none of them have had to come BACK to the shop! This is not meant as a slam on KB - just having fun with the facts.

I guess the few that are out are doing so good That the 1 or 2 owners want to keep there High power'd trucks under wraps.
And i guess we just have to wait to when ever they come out.

Thumbs up

Don't be surprised if KB brings out a bigger unit to end these blower wars. I'm sure it is on the drawing board.......

Don't be surprised if there is a Works blower bigger than the 140.

Ive seen 2, 140's come out of REM. They run good, dont get me wrong. But they have yet to match or beat my KB's HP #s. Im not being sarcastic, just stating facts.

Seems logical, less chance of problems when less are produced.

I don't consider it a blower war...choose your weapon. Just like we chose our Lightning over other vehicles. No need to defend what you bought, as long as it serves the purpose you intended.

Where did you get that information? I'm not saying you're mistaken, but that seems unlikely as Opcon Autorotor AB has only 21 employees, has not hired since 2002, and has been licensing the twin-screw design from Lysholm/Svenska Rotor Maskiner (SRM) since 1991.

Lysholm has several OEM contracts and won't be going anywhere anytime soon. On the contrary, I have actually heard the opposite re: Autorotor but I hate to fan the flames of speculation.

FWIW, in the linked Kenne Bell post, it is mentioned that Autorotor has bought Lysholm, and according the post, Lysholm has been one of Whipple's suppliers at some point. Maybe that's what he was talking about.

I'll eat my shorts... lookie here: Autorotor's parent company Opcon has acquired Lysholm/SRM. http://www.opconab.com/page.asp?ppId...NoImg&lang=eng

The acquisition is expected to be completed before the end of November. The deal will see the sellers become significant owners in Opcon AB, which is listed on Stockholmsbörsen.

Lysholm Technologies AB (LT) is a sister company to SRM. LT had sales turnover in 2002 of SEK 20.7 million and an operating profit of SEK 2.5 million. The company forecasts that it will double sales turnover in 2003 and increase its operating profit.

LT competes with the Opcon subsidiary, Opcon Autorotor, primarily on the US aftersales market for compressors used in combustion engines. The acquisition will give Opcon considerable synergies in marketing and manufacturing. Future rationalisation of the product ranges of the various companies will also generate cost savings.

LT has a licence agreement with a major US systems supplier to the auto industry which will lead to series deliveries of compressors to the Ford Group and other companies from the final quarter of 2003 and onwards.
Intersting news indeed! Maybe now we can all be friends!

I've been talking to Roland Aerlebaeck, the President of Autorotor, and he provided me with some additional clarification about the matter. Bell's post claiming "This year, in October ‘03 Autorotor purchased Lysholm" was a little misleading, since it is Autorotor's parent company that will be the organization "acquiring" SRM and Lysholm, making each of them children of the Opcon "mothership" so to speak.

Roland added that nothing is final yet, as only letters of intent have been issued. While Autorotor's parent company Opcon AB is planning on acquiring SRM and Lysholm, nobody is certain as to what the final corporate landscape will look like after the deal has been implemented. SRM and Lysholm could very well remain separate entities within Opcon AB, focusing on different products and markets (and thus keeping their existing customer ties) while leveraging applicable skills and services for one another. Kind of like DiamlerChrysler (Benz and Chrysler both make "cars" but maintain independent brands/markets/products). This is just FYI - whatever actually does happen sounds like it will be beneficial to all of us.
