Were'nt the BOP reflash'es supposed to tune to the perfect A/F ratio's and timing curves no matter what?

When your running 492 rwhp on a stock block, a good tune just helps it stay together longer. That's about 560 flywheel hp, or 600+ internally (flywheel hp + blower and accessory drives). When you add in higher rpms, it's a miracle it lasted as long as it did.

Yep, what Loco said

And, we have all heard that the stock rods are only good for 450 rwhp if your lucky.

it was about 80 degrees that day.

If you read all the threads around here lately, you would have read the HUGE thread about the BOP reflash, and the people touting it were saying that it would keep it totally safe at all times.

You would have also read threads from JDM about how the 03 Blocks are much stronger and I know that the rods arent, but there are quite a few people with higher HP and TQ numbers and better ET's running around on the stock block with no problems.

When you kick a rod, it is most likely due to detonation and that is directly related to the tune.

Just my .02, no flame intended

I like how he didnt whine and complain....... He knows you gotta pay to play....... NOw he gets to get a built short block that I am sure he will enjoy more than anything...... cause then he can raise the boost to about 22, 23 lbs!!!!!!

Good luck with the new motor!!!!!

You shouldnt be calling people idiots, but if you want you might as well be calling yourself one since what he is saying is true. Detonation puts about 3 times the load on your rods and pistons. Detonation will kill any motor quickly. Especially one that is doing close to 500/600 at the rears! Good luck on your bottom end build.

Oh,OK. I stand corrected.
Let me just write this down real quick...

Well now that we know who did the tuning at least we can get down and drag the poor ba$tard thru the mud back and forth for about a week.

At 18lbs boost and 500 hp it doesn't matter who tuned it. Been there done that.
