Guys with bigger injectors

To those who are using 50 and 55 lb injectors are you using the stock meter and programming around it or are you using a aftermarket meter like the two Pro M offers? If you are using a aftermarket which meter are you using as Pro-M has a stock replacement 95 mm and a 92 mm that comes with a filter?
Thanks Mike

99svtlightning- What 50 lb injectors are you using and how are they working for you? I'm think the 50's will be right for my truck, but I'm looking at both. I just don't see any use in the 55's on mine.

promod- You said you have the 95mm, so it is the one that looks like the stock meter? I thought you had the 92 that came with the small filter. I know the 92 is rated for more horsepower 1000, compared to 700 for the 95.

Thanks Mike

I run 55s with the stock 90mm. I looked into the two larger Pro-Ms and the C&L, and none of them were worth changing out the 90mm for. The 92mm Pro-M and the 95mm C&L flow graphs showed neither outflowed the Ford MAF, and the 95mm Pro-M was just marginally more, not worth the expense IMO. Some people get a "recalibrated MAF" for a new injector size, but that's just a bandaid fix for not having to correct the chip for the larger injectors. It also causes other issues such as drivability concerns, idle issues, and trans failures. A real tuner can easily correct for a pegging MAF. If the truck is being tuned in person by someone who knows what they are doing, there is no need for a different MAF, unless the MAF itself is an inlet restriction (i.e. the MAF is smaller than the intake ducting, like an 80mm is).

Sal thanks for the info. Now do you prefer the 55's over the 50's and why? (excluding the fact that you may need the bigger injectors for larger HP trucks) My biggest concern is gas mileage, as my Lightning is my daily driver. So far everything I have doen to my truck has improved it's gas mileage, including the KB.
Thanks Mike

Mike, I prefer the 55s. I have seen some odd issues with the MSD 50s over the years, and have used the Accel 48s instead of the MSD 50s whenever I needed such a large injector. Now that the 55s are out, and I have used them in many trucks including my own, I use the 55s now. They work flawlessly and have no low duty cycle issues. As for your mpg, that all depends on your chip maker. If they know how to correct your calibration for the 55s properly, your mpg should be unaffected.

55s with the Pro-m 95.

Jim dynoed it first with the 50s but did not like the results and put 55s in and was much happier.

Not really intrested in upgrading my injectors, don't need to and probably wont ever need to but..........

Just a general curiousity question. With the upgrade in injectors have yall also upgraded the fuel pumps(I think the L has 2 pumps)? or do the stock pumps flow enough to keep up with 55 lb/hr injectors?
