A pillar gauge pod...
A pillar gauge pod...
OK, I've done all the searching I think I can take...does anyone have a 2002 model and an A pillar full gauge pod with either two or three gauge openings that they like? If so, where did you get it and would you mind posting pics? Also, how closely do the Lunars match the factory lighting? I'm pretty picky, so I want something that looks like Ford did it at the factory. Am I better off to go with Phantoms and get green lights for them? Thanks again guys...

I bought it and the pod from Jeg's. In case you didn't know, the pod is black and you have to paint it to match. I borrowed some Ford Silver spray paint from a friend and it came out very nice IMO.

I have a mid 2002 and I used the Autometer triple gauge pod. It did require slight trimming in order to get the correct fit. According to Tim's findings, you must trim the Lo-Tec pod as well. Contact REM about the pod and let them know it may need trimming. The lunars are about as close to factory lighting as you can get. They are about the same color only brighter.
Here's the autometer 2 gauge pod - used some grey vinyl colored paint that was a pretty close match. I can tell the difference, but noone else can

This was taken last night at the track. Those are Lunars, and they really don't match the color of the factory gauges well at all, but they sure look cool

OK, after doing I little research, I have determined that I have the 2001 style A pillar; hopefully I can find a pod that fits it well. Tim (NOT Mr. Skelton, just Tim
), you have the best damn Lightning site I have ever seen; thank you for singlehandedly improving the Lightning community! Now, does anyone have any pictures of the Phantom gauges lit up at night?

As to the Phantoms at night, I don't have any photos, but the Phantoms are a little brighter and greener than the stock cluster. I've been told that making an "X" on the bulb with a blue Sharpie will help them match better. When I tried to put the X on the bulb cover, it didn't work -- the ink just curled up. Only after assembling did it occur to me that I maybe should have tried marking the bulb itself. One day I will pull the pod and try again.
But it's pretty damn close as is. And I hate the goofy "Lunar" logo on those guages enough that I wouldn't buy them even if the match was perfect.

Because of your informative site I found all the parts to make my own oil seperator. And the best parts was there were part numbers on every description he listed.

But thanks for the kind words nonetheless.
