Angry Noisy Hawk HPS pads

I installed some Hawk HPS rear brake pads a couple of weeks ago on my truck. This week, they've begun squealing like pig with its nuts stuck in the fence. They don't seem to sqeal during high speed braking; but at low speeds, it's quite embarrasing. Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Edward

Did you put the disc brake quiet goop on the back of the pads?

Aren't the Hawk HPS pads more of high performance pad that is made to work better at a higher operating tempatures? Or am I thinking of the Hawk Blues?

High performance pads usually squeal a little when they are below their optimal temperature range.

I had Kevlar pads once on another vehicle and they didn't work when cold!
I would run the first stop sign every morning.

once they heated up, HOLY COW. talk about stop on a dime!

A couple of real hard stops will get rid of that.

All I can say is get used to it. I had those pads on my 03GT before I got my L, and they have this range they'll squeal in. Very light braking or very hard breaking they were quiet as could be, but in between they were loud a *****, and nothing got rid of it.

I just turned the stereo up and didn't worry about it. (I actually got used to it) If that fails, save them for the track and put a true street pad on...

I changed my OEM pads out at 42,000 miles for NAPA's Ceramix pads. Neither have squealed--no noise at all.
