Kaboom!

Was racin an SS Camaro the other night, and the motor went KABOOM last night! Threw a rod and flames were shootin out everywhere! It was at night so I'm sure it was a nice display to the SS seein as he was chasin me! I guess runnin the 6lber and all them kick downs finally caught up with me. Oh well, you play you pay. Called JL and my new built motor is in the works now, so I'm pumped about that! Bringin the truck up there in a couple weeks. Hopefully it'll be even better when she gets back! Sorry so long. Thanks, Jeff

Damn, I knew what this was going to be about, but was hoping that it wasn't.
Atleast you are man enough to know who's fault it was, and are going about fixing the problem the right way So many times we have seen here, of blown motors with large pulleys, going back to stock and trying to get Ford to warranty the motor.
No wonder Ford is squeezing everybodies nutz on warranty work.
Iam sure JL will take real good care of ya, and have you smoking those SS in short order.

I stay away from those kickdowns myself, and hope to replace my shortblock before I have too

I bet that SS driver has a story to tell......hahaha. To bad there's not a video of your flamejob

I feel ya buddy, my motor went on 9/11/03. Except I was at the 1/4 track. Hey, I did have my best 1/8 time before it went.

Good luck to ya.

That's awful BlownSVT. Very sorry to hear about your L!

I am also, as Fast Gator said, glad to see an honest "you play you pay" attitude here. It does suck and I hope and pray mine doesn't blow like that, but if it did, with a 4# down and 2# up how could I blame anyone other than me if It blows.

Hope you are back up and runnin' soon.

Kudos! Few people have been willing to admit that either. I'd say that driving habits contribute to failure as much as modifications in many cases.

Sorry it let go on you; but, at least you have an excuse to upgrade now.

I've read here that it's a 3 day turnaround from start to finish. That's great service. If I could afford it right now, I'd set up an appointment for sure.

Since day one I've cringed at screen names like blownsvt or what ever. Sorry about your motor dude! Hey, sometimes things happen for a reason....if you've got the cash...its a great reason to step up to a built motor! Good luck!

Oh, and TSDUKE don't they say, it will always run the best right before she lets go? At least it went down fighting!

Thanks OW. Hopefully with the built bottom end, she'll be able to handle the kick downs alot better!

What year is your L? Sorry to hear about your downtime...

Opps just saw you have an 02... It seems 01's and 02's have the most broken rods....Anyone heard of an 03 breaking a rod?
