Anyone know where I can get info on the safety crash testing on our trucks?

I have to do a report for school on Safety crash testing in cars and I want to do it on something I can relate to. Any info on a place where they tested the crash safety of our trucks? Thanks, Shane

I was shocked to see it got a pretty poor rating. Is that true it has bad crash test results?

One thing I have found, is that the 3rd door on the supercabs hurts the head on performance. If you look at the others the extra pillars keep it intact more where the door just lets the cab buckle more. I was trying to look for a 5.4 reg cab but only have found the 4.6 reg cab. Not sure if the motor/tranny/rear end would effect much?

Thats all that needs to be said. I smashed my F-150 in March and I had not a mark on me poped both air bags, walked away. It is just how hard you crash I think. The 3rd Door is a safety issue I agree.

According to this wacker he has crashed everything under the sun, died and came back to life.

After seeing the test results, I was a little nervous, to say the least. Then one day on TV I was watched a police chase that changed my mind. The guy was driving a late model f150, and running from the cops. He was suicidal, and ended the chase by deliberately driving headon into a concrete pillar under an overpass at 70-80 mph. It didn't work, and he walked away (well, actually the cops took him down quick.) I haven't worried much about crashworthyness since then.

My first L did a 360 when getting onto the highway in the rain (I was going about 15mph) and was hit by a 1990 Blazer traveling 60mph. The fiberglass bed took all the blow and the truck pivoted on the nose with the back about 6 feet in the air (I know this because my brother and grandfather were in back of me). Both my friend and I walked away unhurt and so did the guy that hit us. Thank God the truck did a full 360 and didn't line up for a side impact or front end collision.
