bad 1st time on slicks

hey whats up i have a question for some of yous today i was at etown and my first time using hoosiers i pulled a 1.82 60 foot and went 12.97 at 103.4 pretty bad if u ask me. on f1s i went 12.93 at 107.9 with a 2.09 60 foot. can any of you answer why i am going so much slower mph wise and why the same time with a much better 60 foot ??

You will usually lose MPH with slicks Vs. F1's, because the soft sidewall "eats" RWHP. This is especially true at lower air presures. I lost 1 MPH when I lowered the pressure in my Hoosiers by 2 PSI. As for the times...weather?

Ya like he said,

For those that saw my run Friday,
I lowered the Hoosiers from my normal 19psi down to 16psi
for the first time ever, BIG MISTAKE
I went into the wiggly chicken at over 100MPH and dam near
lost it, of course I stayed in it anyway and got my 1st 11
(YA BABY) but dam did it hurt my MPH as a result.
The slicks, especially at low psi, (like silver said) kill MPH

I ran more than 2/10th's quicker than my previous best ET's,
yet I only gained 1MPH on the top end

I'm #66 Here

And Fridays Run

As you see and compare
I was faster at the 60, faster at the 330, faster at the 1/8th
(up almost 2MPH there), faster at the 1000', and almost 3/10ths quicker, but only 1MPH (it was clearly the slicks and or air pressure)

As you can see by Robs02 timeslips I (Iam # 61) was running 114 mph but friday all I could muster was 112. So maybe the weather had something to do with ithe mph.
Btw, how tall are your Hooisers, 26" or 28"

I didn't realize your MPH was down Friday too gator,
Hmm maybe the weather does play a part.
BTW, I DO HAVE ONE OF YOUR RUNS ON VID TAPE
In my case I surley lost some MPH with all that swaying
side to side

BLUE N BLOWN

I've acheived numerous 12.7's + 12.8's
OFF THE JUICE with Filter-Chip-n-4lb Pulley along with a T/B.
I even ran 12.8's on F-1's with same setup on pump gas.
All of those ET's were with 16 degree's of timing,
that program worked so well, now it's my juice program.
(2) 12.0's so far with the Juice, those Mods and that program.

1st attempt using 6lbs plus Juice plus those Mods
got me an 11.81 Friday

Yes you should be a bit faster, but like everyone is saying,
weather and cool downs are absolutely EVERYTHING when
it comes to Lightning ET's. As most know, I did not make one
pass July, Aug, or Sept this yr, --> Why you ask ? Because I
knew I wouldn't have gotten my best ET's in the heat

i have the exact same mods as you .
On f1's prior to the traction bars i ran
a best of 12.97@106.58 with a 2.06 60ft.
In the warmer wheather about mid 80's
low 90's i ran a best of 13.02@104 with
a 1.83 60ft. thats with the hoosier 28x11.50
16's Qtp's and traction bars. Now that i caught some good
wheather i ran a 12.70@105.97 and a
12.59@106.04.Thats with the tires set at 16psi.
I may raise that to see what happens but on those
2 runs the 60ft. was 1.77 and 1.75.So you must have
ran into some bad air.

current mods,jlp chip,5# lower,jlp ram air,line mod,
jlp traction bars,2" drop shackles,hoosier 28x11.50
16's qtp's
mods to come, ported eaton and upper intake, ftvb,
bassani catback,computer flash,and hopefully an
11 sec. run
