Exclamation Anyone that has blown a plug!!!!

This may be old and some may have already done this. I know that there are a lot of people around this board that have gone through this head issue. Please click on the link below and fill out the info. It doesnt take long and maybe, just maybe one day something will be done. This is not the NTSA (?). If you know of any other boards with people roaming around that have gone through the head issue please post this and tell everyone you know.

Again sorry if this is old to some but im sure some have not done/seen this, and anything will help.

Peace-
Allyn

A lawsuit is getting a little unreal isn' t it?. When my house was built I got mismatched carpet, I didn' t sue. Ford knows theres a problem with plugs spitting out and if they are any kind of a company they will fi it for there customers regardless if it is with in warrenty milage or not.

I dont know about you but I dont like throwing away $2500 for something that a manufacturer should take care of. You dont think a law suit is "real", you probably have not had one blow on you. Much less two!!!! If Ford would own up to it then a lawsuit would not be necassary!!!!

P.S. If you bought a house and didnt stand up for the fact that it had mismatched carpet, you just let it go then that explains your opinion. Do you let everyone walk all over you or just home builders? As for me I will stand up for what I think is right!!!

Cost me $2800.00 when one popped out on my van. Ford knows they messed up that's why the newer head have more threads. If it happens to you - out of warranty we will see how happy you are to buck up for the repair.

From what I understand its the 5.4, 4.6 and whatever the V10
is. Its not just L's. Vans, Crown Vics, F-150/250 LD/SD, Mustangs etc.....

My dealer gave me a new motor no questions asked when I launched #7! I have a 2002 Lightning with 28,000 miles. I'm a happy camper. I guess it's in your approach how well you will get treated.

Your truck was under warranty. That's why you got it repaired. I know some have been denied under warranty (don't know the story why), but the majority that I know of have been taken care of if they are still in warranty.

I would have to agree w/ you. This is some-what of a significant
issue. I plan to have my plugs changed every six months just
to give me piece of mind.
If a plug happens to eject in between plugs changes I will be
touching bases w/ Ford, Or I'll be filling out that form!
I feel Ford should have addressed the problem as soon as it was
discovered. Four threads! What were they thinking!
When you look at the big picture I do understand it's a
small percentage of people that have
encountered this problem, And Ford probably didn't feel it
constituted a recall. With that being said, I feel they should
accommodate the people that have been a victom to this problem.
Just my 02.

I can't believe how serious this problem is. I had no idea that the plug spitting thing is such a big deal but at $2,800 a crack I can see your points. After all, My 03 Lightning has 5,109 km's on it it has had 1 Transmission almost had a little fight on my hands for warrenty for that, Some kind of clunk that sounds like the exhaust hitting the floor going over bumps, A totally phucked 6 cd changer, Seized Clutch Fan as of last night. . I wish I could load pics but I' am on dial up. If the plug spitting thing is costing you $2,800 a pop I can see the reason for it. I had no idea you guys were getting gouged for that much.

$2800.00 was a typo. It was $2300.00 and the fact that it was a van made the labor cost alot more than a F150.
