Question Need a solution

Heres the problem:

My truck runs 7.40's ( 1/8th mile ) usually and a 30 every now and then. Its MPH is 92-93.

I want it to go about 3-4 tenths quicker and 4-6 MPH faster!!!

I have just about every bolt-on available:

E-fan
Longtubes
T/B
Phenolic spacer
Heat exchanger
Torque converter
built tranny
pullies
chip
tires ( slicks and DR's )
traction bars
75 shot NX kit

A: I don't want the truck to cam ( to lope at idle )
B: I don't wanna change the blower ( YET )
C: I need to know if porting the heads will do any good w/o cams
D: I'm guessing that the only thing I can do is build the bottom end and turn up the N20!!!???

If you run the smaller Crower stg II cams (they have 2 choices) the engine wont lope. We have already tried this in a friends truck. The idle will have a deeper tone too it, like a muscle car but it will be smooth (If the chip is right)
Dale

PS...I forgot to add that there was a nice seat of the pants power increase also. I'm guessing 25-30hp. Dont have dyno numbers but the power increase was real.

You can buy my old cams. I think it would give you a couple tenths, maybe more with ported heads. They are Crower regrinds and you don't notice a lope at idle. I don't have the specs on me but they are somewhere between stock and a stage II. I ran stock springs and no lash caps. $200.

As far as just porting heads only go a lot of people disagree but I think it has to help. I have no data to back that up though.
