lisence plate removal

hey anyone know how to take the front bracket off a 2003 Lightning? tried but i couldnt figure out how. dont want to pull too hard. will it leave holes behind? thanks

its too bad the dealer didn't leave the bracket off for you...mine did...it's just screwed in (i believe).....and yes it will leave holes....

dammit........thanks
anything you know of that they make to block the holes.i saw a silver lightning today and it had two color matched small ***** in place of the plate.

i saw a white lightning at lightningfest with the front bracket on upside down.. LOL
i had to look at it for a minute to figure out what was funny looking..

Good luck. I am in the same boat. The truck came with a #@$!%^#@$ front plate on it. Before I left the dealer, I took the two screws out and threw the plate holder in the garbage. I have two holes that need filled. I had an estimate of $500 to do both holes. I will have it done in the spring.

go to discount auto.... they sell little plastic "push in" style caps like you're talking about... I have a set from there. You will need to trim the portion that sticks into the hole however to make it fit. You have to trim the length and width of the "stem", I guess you could call it.

I painted mine with an automotive spray paint, let them bake in the sun for 20 mins between each coat...do about 3 coats or so.

Also, dont just push them in or they will not be flush with your bumper...you must turn them clockwise while pushing so they thread into the holes.
