letting of at the 1/4
letting of at the 1/4
why does everyone say "oh, i let off at the 1000 or whatever"...it seems like all the big tuners are gunning for nines but how do they get there by "letting off"....there engines are built to take the abuse right? or am i wrong? enlighten me
You're really gonna start a nice 'war' over that...
They 'let off' typically because something just doesn't feel right. They're constantly data-logging and watching everything for those 11 seconds or less, and if something isn't right, letting off may help lessen the cost of fixing a blown engine.
When running 10's, you're REALLY putting some stresses on that engine and drivetrain. There's a fine line when pushing the envelope, and I know I would let off too, if something just didn't feel right...

Most of them are bracket racing so they let off to keep from breaking out.
Also, most wont be pushing the limits of their combination till the race season is over......why would they want to blow the motor and miss out on the races and points?
