It took 3 and a half years but,

I finally lost a foglight!

Yep...after always reading about everyone else somehow going through 6 or 8 lamps, after 3 years and 50,000 miles, I finally lost one. The glass was totally gone. I picked up a set of "black beauty" (black out appearance when turned off) to replace them.

Dave/Promod : I'll see if I can dig up the broken housing for a pic. The truck is mostly clean at the moment, the passenger side had a small run in with a driveway shrub and neeeds some compounding. But I'll try to snap a shot of the light.

Bruce : Heheh, nope, still not chipped yet,

Leann : Hehe, yeah, but I wash mine. :P

Rob : If I can get off from work I'll be there Friday...I was also planning on going one of the other days as well.

Be ready for a snowball effect. I too made it 50k with both intact. Then one cracked. The next day, the other did it as well, and I lost the whole lense. Replaced them both. Low and behold, two days later, a rock took out one of the new ones. The rock is still in it Thank god for cheap reman mustang units!

Here they are. Dan, did you just remove them from their housing? Sorry, I'm 'numb' today but they don't look like they're for our type of fog lights.

Yeah, at the moment I swapped just the glass light...you have to change the grounding clip to a larger one on the stock housing for it to work (easy splice'n'crimp). From looking at the full housing and what is bolted in our bumper (for 1999-2000) I'm thinking I might be able to put the whole unit in...I ran out of time this weekend to check...
