1st time to track recommendations?

Going to the Ford weekend at Etown this Saturday.
This is my first time ever to the track and just installed a bunch of mods.
diablo chip (2program)
#4 pulley
JLP thunder pipe and intake
bassani exhaust
2"drop shackles
driveshaft loop.

Have not had a chance to run the truck much with the mods.

This is my first time and looking for some pointers.
Anything I should bring, best way to launch, leave the tailgate up/down, etc??

Thanks for all your help and hope to meet some of you this weekned

Well, bring a helmet, you need one to race, if you don't have one, you can rent from the track, but they are nasty...Also make sure to wear long pants, no shorts allowed...If you have a tonneau cover, leave the tailgate up....Or remove it completely along with your hitch, and spare tire and jack assembly to drop some weight...However, if you have a long drive to E-town, bring a chain and lock, and remove these items at the track so you are not making the trip without the spare....Launching is very tricky with F1's..Especially without traction devices....(Like me)....The best I have mustered is a 1.94 on the F1's with 32 psi in them...It defenitely takes practice, so don't be disappointed if you see some 2.2x or 2.3x short times....Oh yeah, bring a pen so when you are in line for tech, you can fill out your racer card....Also bring some windex and papwer towels to clean the shoe polish off of your windows at the end of the day...I can't think of anything else, so good luck, have fun, and plan to talk with alot of L owners there....Everybody is cool, and if you have any questions, somebody will be able to answer them.....

As soon as you get teched and find a parking space, disconnect your neg. battery cable, turn on on the headlight switch--for 5 minutes, turn OFF the h/l switch, and reconnect the battery cable. Your PCM has been 'learning' your driving habits which are probably not using WOT every time you start off. The PCM will now be 'zeroed out' and will quickly adapt to WOT runs. Btw, my best ETs have usually been gotten on my fisrt pass down the 1/4

You might want to buy a couple of bags of convenience store ice. Lay them on your intake adaptor. A bath towel under the bags will absorb most of the water. Don't bring the ice onto the staging lanes. Water on the track is a no-no! For the same reason, be sure your A/C switch is on "panel" so the compressor is 'off'.

I bring a troque wrench with me and retorque(just test them) the lug nuts.

If you have an Outerwear 'sock' on your JLP filter, remove it.

Don't go thru the water-box. With F1s on, you will track water up to the tree. You may/might just spin the F1s in front of the water-box to clean them off before staging.

"GO" on the third amber. Don't wait for the 'Green' light.

I find it best to launch at around 1000 rpms and roll into it. 1.9 and 1.8 60 ft are getting pretty common doing this
