Another Plug Blows

Well, It happened again. Same plug on the passenger side. The first time it blew I just rescrewed it in, changed all the plugs, and hoped for the best. No joy there. I am going to pull the heads and heli-coil all the plug holes. FYI, I snapped two sockets trying to get the blower off. When I finally got the bolts out, they were corroded and rusted. It was probably from the old I/C leak. With my work schedule it looks like the truck will be down for a few months. Any advice is well accepted. Lastly, I just ordered a Chilton manual for $24.00. Good investment for you DITYers.

Now, time for a break. I got a tri-tip to grill and some beers to slay. Have a great weekend. R/S Dennis

You don't have to pull the heads

Call JDM, they have some titanium inserts you can tap and then put in the heads.

Thanks Don. I will check with Jim. I can't imagine not having to pull the heads.

Sorry Shorty, took my 2002 in with a launched #7 plug and my dealership replaced my motor no questions asked. It took 5 weeks to get it back, but it gave me back 28.000 miles. Now no piston slap, updated heads. I'm happy!
Good Luck! Don't mean to gloat!
