I got the kit and installed it over the weekend... the bracket, brake line and the fittings all fit perfectly. Install is easy, took a little time with the wiring, but not hard to do. Recommendtion... buy a new switch and dont use the one Hurst gives you...

Great Job Tommy!

What's wrong?

OK, after all the trouble of getting a line-lock kit, I have to ask:

What's wrong with this kit?

Can anyone pipe up and explain a reason why this kit is bad/not perfect/going to blow up my truck?

If not, I'll be buying one shortly...

Coldie

I don't think a line lock kit can blow up a truck. The worst you could probably do would be to damage the ABS brake system which is costly. I doubt that would happen though. Lots of people have installed their own homemade linelock kits, including me, and have had no problems that I'm aware of.

No problems with this kit, you do not have to cut any lines. The ABS is not affected with this kit at all. This kit is the easiest and best line lock available. We took our time putting a great and simple to install kit together.

Coldie... the kit really is that easy to install... just be sure to bleed your front brakes after the install... i had very little air in the lines....but the kit is worth every penny, they didnt cut any corners and did not use cheap parts... but like i said earlier, buy a new button, the one that hurst supplies is flimsy

WTF, this thing will save your brake pads and tranny wear and tear. Anyone who does burnouts,(All us L owners ) needs this mod.

Great work TL.

Hey E-luzion,

Where did you get the new button from? I tried my line lock this past weekend and it isn't engaging when I press the button supplied in the Hurst kit, I'm pretty sure the button is the problem, I haven't had a chance to troubleshoot any further yet.

Tks

It is set up to keep pressure in the front brake cylinders and release it in the rear.

I would have bought this kit if it was available a year and one half ago.

When you pump your brakes and hold the pedal down and turn your linelock to the On position and then release your foot off the brake pedal. The selonoid shuts and keeps your front brakes locked, so you can do a proper burnout. Very simple....

Radio shack has a good assortment of momentary, high current switches. I can post the part number that I used for my line lock, if needed.
