3000gt's are nothing! I've beaten them in my n/a f150. All I have are chip/intake/exhaust which probabley is about 5 horse power. 3000's aren't fast, the VR4's are quick, but those normal 3000's are like 16 or 17 second cars.
Oh, and they are pieces. And the guy I raced also blew his tranny doing neutral drops. And he has body damage on every possible panel. They look like they could be fast, but they are 4 cylinder 5 speeds. And most are atleast 8 years old.

in highschool i had an ugly 87 mustang Gt with a bunch of missing emissions equipment (lol) and i met a girl online who had a 3000gt who thought her car could take mine any day..... when i got too many speeding tickets from the local yokels i sold the car to my friend, but i wish she coulda raced me i would have shown her that a brand that makes Television sets cant beat my good ole american muscle....
tell your wife good job for whooping that POS!

Before I bought my L 2 months ago I had a red base model 3000GT. 222HP V6 w/ATX. Ran 15.8@89.9 at Rockingham. (Fastest stock NA ATX heh)
The VR4s are AWD/AWS with 320HP (94-99) and ran mid 13s stock. She probably beat the base/SL model because I think the VR4 AWD traction would have got her pretty good off the line.
One day I'm going to try to get my L to Rockingham and run it... hopefully I'll get around 13.8 vs that 15.8 the GT ran.
Some 3000GT specs for ya:
91-93 VR4 - 300HP TT DOHC V6 5 speed
94-99 VR4 - 320HP TT DOHC V6 6 speed
91-96 Base - 222HP DOHC V6 4 speed auto/5 speed manual
97-99 Base - 167HP SOHC 4 speed auto/5 speed manual
91-99 SL - 222HP DOHC V6 4 speed auto/5 speed manual
3000GTs I know a lot about... Ls I'm just starting to learn about.

I probably wouldn't have wasted the gas on the guy, but my wife was exicited about the kill. I was happy she was happy and that she didn't wreck when the truck loses traction at anything less than 40-50 mph.

I like the 7.303 better.
Besides if you click it in my sig you can watch the video of the anouncer saying he is hard on the brakes or something.
