Question Where to get a built ENGINE

Hey fellas,

I recently ordered a built ( ported heads, cams, and bottom end ) from Race Related. I had to cancel b/c of some family health issues but all is back to halfway normal again so I'm looking to find a tuner who:

1. Has a good price for Complete engine swap
I'm talkin trade my stock engine for a complete built one labor for swap included )

2. Has proven numbers on the track and dyno with their set-up

3. Builds engines that don't sound like a diesel

4. Won't try to screw me on price or service

My first advice would be to do it yourself. That way you would know it was done right and would save some serious cash. Most people don't have the time, skills, or desire to do that though.

My second advice would be to buy all the parts and have Deron Shady build it for you. I couldn't be happier with his work and I know Allen recommends him as well. Don't know if Deron can/wants to take on a job that big right now but it may be worth it to talk to him about it. He does good work, is local if any problems come up, has fair pricing, and gets his jobs done quick. Just a suggestion.

If you really want to buy from a known vendor though I would think they would all have a similar product. Just choose who you like dealing with best or has the best price.

Good luck.

Chikin,
Sounds like you were dealing with the right people in the first place! I was looking for the same things that you are, and that's why I took my truck to Race Related. I should have mine back by mid October.

I've heard much talk @ Race Related,
it seems their Built Engine's w/ install is quite reasonable
(or should I say, like it should be, "@ 1/2 of what some charge")
I also see they have some quite impressive working projects,
10 sec HD, Mustang w/Lightning Motor in it, 8 sec Cobra, etc....

I have heard some people speak not so good about them,
But we hear that about every tuner and shop, so as far as I'm concerned, as as far as I can see, they do great work, at a great price, and of what I'm told, quite fast.

The engine from Race Related was junk. Spend the extra money and buy from a reputable vendor like JDM.

James will build you a motor based on what your budget will allow. His base package is around $3500 installed, which is a great deal. Of course you can also go with an "upgraded" package which consists of better pistons etc.; it all depends on what you want to spend. Regardless of your choice, any package you get from him is a great value, and this all comes with a 1 year warranty!

Not a good thing to post on a public forum.

i can say whatever i want to say on this fourm
and you can take what i say and beleive or not, i dont care.
no one should be charged 700 bucks for a header install.
no one should have to wait 5 months to get their integra back, while shoveling through horse ****.
race related will get owned by a molitav c0cktail sooner or later if they keep treating customers like they have been.

I see that you are angry, but what you just did is known as a Terroristic Threat and is a felony.

You may want to delete the threat part.
