I'll make one more attempt at educating you and then your on your own.....grass hopper.

Your post gets very specific about the manner in which the attack will happen. Only the perpetrator of the crime would know the specifics in advance.

Your post also states in a matter of fact type way that said attack will happen.

Last but not least....no one posting here is impressed by your big bad talk.

I've tried to impart some words of wisdom on the younger "kids" on this board also. What I've found is that its a WASTE of my time and my effort. Let them find out on their own, (Hoping its only an azz beating) then maybe they can grow up. But this fella wants to spew forth......threats...... maybe the local police can pay him a visit and let him see the error of his ways. If not, if something happens to the shop he mentions, then Iam sure, the Arson squad will be more than happen to talk to him....LOL

Sorry to keep this off-topic for one more post, but the perceived anonymity of the Internet causes so many people to think they are invincible. If something were to happen to this shop, I would be able to supply the police the location of suspect #1 based on their IP address. From there, the police would subpoena their ISP and finding the person based completely on a screen name would be fairly simple. Don't kid yourself into thinking that just because you can't actually be seen, that you are completely invisible and will get away with typing whatever you want. That's just ignorant.

Ok, sorry. You can now get back on topic...

What do you get for the base $3500?

Thanks

I had a local guy (Dante) build my motor.

He goes by 1BULLET and ICEMAN online.

He did an EXCELLENT job on my motor, and the price was right too!

I recommend him 100%

I have a question that may add to this thread.

When purchasing a "built" lower end, is it safe to expect a certain level of changes? Such as pistons, rods..ect.

What would the minimum expectation be?

Why would one be drasticly more or less expensive than the other?

Are they all blue printed or is this more of an exception than a rule?

A "built" bottom end for our trucks, usually consists of Manley or Eagle H-Beam rods, quality forged pistons(CP, JE, Probe, etc...usually depends upon tuner), our stock cranks are forged units, so they're generally deemed pretty much good to go. I don't know about blueprinting, but am positive that JL, JDM, and PSP balance the reciprocating assembly(when ordering a complete shortblock). Hope this helps.

Later Ron,
Rob

Yeah Dale, Dante's motor's ARE killers. High flow heads, stage xxx cams, etc.

I was just asking about the slightly more economy minder user, what a $3000 'built' short block could include?

Anyone who sells "built" motors can tell you exactly what parts are used in them and what methods were used during production.

Ours currently use JE pistons (very quiet), plasma moly rings, Manley or Eagle hbeam rods, Clevite main and rod bearings, ARP main stud kit, ARP head studs, and are computer balanced.

We have sold over 30 motors in the last year and have not had one return or failure that we know of.

Just remember to find someone you are comfortable with and be sure that they can service any problems that may arise in the future. Value and price are, many times, two different things.
