Smile Newbie time!

Hi guys! Well, I just wanted to introduce myself. Im 17 and a senior in HS. I drive a Firebird. Don't worry, im not one of those brand loyalist punks. I like any and all types of cars, not just GM, Mopar, Ford, ect.

Ive been doing the sports car thing for less then a year now and its already kinda becoming boring. You can't go anywhere without being spoted by the local coppers. Before I had my bird, I had a beater 79 Chevy truck and then a 98 Ranger. Looking back, I realize how much I really liked trucks. To me, they were just more fun.

So that brings me here. I have always loved lightnings ever since they came out. I noticed some of the older ones are coming down in price. If I really want to throw down some money, im sure the new ones are going to be increadable too. I don't have the money for one right now, but early research never hurts, right?

Sorry for the long post, and thank you to all that read it.
Jason F.

Welcome aboard......seems to me you posted in the right place seeing as how your wanting to do a bit of research on Lightnings.

This is an excellent place to pick up some info on them.

Rocks

Since your 17...do me a favor and pretend those are cokes being toasted together. I don't want a contributing offense on my record. Unless of course it is with a female.

WELCOME Jason
I think the L would be a great choice for someone who can appreciate the benifits of owning a truck,
that doubles as a race car.

I say go for it, and if you don't have the cash (or credit)
get help from P+M (pop+mom).
Surly by 17 you have the abilities to convince P+M
that you need a truck for multi reasons.

You could say you want to start your own business, schitt who knows, maybe a few lawn mowers later and your there.
Or there's always the, I'll be moving out soon speech, and will
need a truck to move everything.
Then when all else fails you make it like They need a truck in the family. You know Home Depot runs, sheet rock, maybe some light towing for that Jet Ski they should buy you for xmas.
And remember if you got a sister, make sure you mention her in the conversation, that usually helps, things like But Dad, I can even pick up Britney and her bicycle when she needs a ride home.
If you still aren't winning by now, you may have to pull out
THE BIG ONE
Tell Dad you wanna buy him a little row boat for some local fishing and you can use this truck of yours to tow it TOGETHER
and spend QUALITY TIME TOGETHER, or you fear you'll grow apart from him as you approach college and or the work force.

if that fails, well hell, do what I do
go in debt up to your eyebrows
Schitt at my age, I'll prob die before I have to worry about
paying 1/2 the schitt off, -->I don't own

Welcome aboard Jason. These trucks are simply amazing and I am sure you would love one if you owned it. I know I do. -Mat-

Great attitude Jason!

Welcome and if you take the plunge with an L you will be thrilled. I have had the pleasure of driving many different makes and models of cars and trucks and I can honestly say my L has brought me more pleasure that most vehicles. Very simply they rock.

And for us 37 year olds, it keeps us feeling like 17, LOL!

D-Day

Welcome......just the thought of me having a truck like this at 17 scares the crap out of me.If I got in all that trouble with a 82 Subaru Hatchback I can only imagine what would happen have happened if I had 380hp instead of 82hp. If you get one be carefull everyone that knows the Lightning bage will want to run you on the street and you will still stick out to the coppers. At 33 I still do not have the power to resist the Honda guy or the Camaro guy reving up at me at the light I sure would not have been able to do it at 17. Maybe you can handle all the girls and pressure you get with the L JUST BE CAREFULL!!!
Your L Bro,
Jeff

thanks!

Thank you so much for the warm welcome guys. It means a lot to me. Im going to go to Wyotech in July for collision/refinishing, so I will probably be looking to buy one after that. I like doing early research on cars/trucks I want to buy, because I like to know what I am buying. I have herd nothing but good about lightnings, but still, I want to hear the hole story.

I kinda want to keep my car, because I really like it a lot. I wouldn't mind having a fast car and an even faster truck. It sounds like the perfect set-up to me.

There is a guy at our local community college that has a black 02 L and every time I see it, i almost wreck, because I stare at it so hard!

Again, thanks for the warm welcome. Expect some gay newb questions from me later on.
