How much does a jack like that cost?

I can't stop looking at that picture. I think that's awesome you have a jack like that in your garage. That is my dream! How much did it cost your dad do you know?

On the tile, when the vehicle park's on the tile does it leave a slight tread mark? we park our trailers on tile and it left some mark'sd, but it does weigh in around 30,000lb.

Would a tire turning in place lift one of those tiles

890lb torque pulls them up!!!!

Im going the black and white checker route. Its really not that expensive.about 1.50 asquare ft installed.Only problem is nobody has a TRUE WHITE tile in a commercial application. They are white with little specs in them.Oh well they are supposed to be sturdy.

and for who asked.A lift like that can be bought for about 22-2300 which i feel is a bargain from many manf. eagle lifts is one manf.

Try these- the race deck would be you best bet but kind of pricey.

I priced Race deck and it was $4 a sqare foot. I might have to try the conventional tile route myself. I am building a second garage and tile woule look good in the house(parking) garage. Did your dad use commercial tile?

Original question

To provide a little info in response to the original question, The Family Handyman just had a decent article on putting down an epoxy floor. I managed to find it online for you if you're interested:

The red coat reminds me of a classic 60s vinyl seat cover :-)

You can use a commercial vinyl tile (rather than ceramic). Home Depot has them for about 57 cents each (1 square foot). No too hard to install yourself.
