You are mixing up the torque reduction and the boost dump. The pause in between shifts has nothing todo with boost. The torque reduction between shifts is a 400 ms fuel cutoff programmed into the PCM on the 1-2 upshift only. The boost dump solenoid is not even involved.

The boost dump solenoid dumps ALL the boost when it senses that something is really wrong. Drag racers disable the dump ("bypass") to keep the boost from dumping after a burnout.

I have never had the bypass activate itself in a year and a half of hard driving. If it ain't broke . . .

all I did was...

-Why are people doing it the other way with the t...
Does the way I do set a temp code? (temp meaning when you disconnect the battery it's gone?)
-I never expieranced boost dump after a burn out (when I had the bypass plugged in) what is it like? Running with 0 boost, or just less?
-What happens to the boost after a 1/4 run. Where does it go? Say I go WOT 0-115 at the track or on the street and I make 15 pounds of boost, the 2nd I let off the gas, isnt there an internal boost bypass in the blower? What happens to the boost when you let off after WOT?
thanks, Shane

Hmmm, I was under the impression that there is BOTH a fuel cutoff (called torque reduction) AND the boost dump at the 1-2 upshift. Hence why you see the boost dropoff after the shift.

Not sure what you mean by "it dumps boost when something is really wrong"?

Option three:

have your tuner disable the program to dump. That's what we did in our Miami tune a month ago. How do I know? I asked Willie what his opinion was on disconnecting the bypass, his reply - doesn't matter I disabled the program.
