That's the most respect I have ever seen GM drivers give Lightnings. So what if a Z06 can run in the 11s stock, who the heck can afford a Z06? And you can't haul hay in a Vette.

It sounds like there are a few guys on there that know enough about our trucks to be skeered, though.

 

I have been following that thread for a few days now. Entertaining to say the least

 

It's too bad, we should be pulling together, not infighting. There are too many people out there trying to take down all gearheads. Loving your car/truck doesn't require you to rip up someone elses ride. Just another reason stupid people shouldn't breed.

One thing that really eats me up...is just how arrogant these F'ers are. They think thier poop doesn't stink. One guy summed it up, saying no matter what you got....theres always someone faster....Well, is it really that much of an insult to these guys to get beat by a truck???? Also, these vette guys, like the ricers all assume us to be rednecks. Hmmm, maybe it is pure jelousy??

 

Maybe a few of the vette owners over on that forum should check out what vehicle took the 120mph class in the "Silver State Classic" this year.

YES! It was a LIGHTNING chalking up a another trophy!! It beat out all the vette's and the porsche that were in that class.

The owner of the Lightning was from California. It's white and I didn't get the model year.

CUDO'S to the driver of the Lightning! To win this class in a aerodynamic car is expected. To win it in a truck is impressive.

 

They can say what ever they want about Lightnings being a truck…

The Corvette is joke…same styling since 1984, playschool interior, pushrod engine all for the bargain price of $60k…

I don’t like to begrudge anyone their choice of car, but let’s call it what it is. In 1969 the Corvette had something, today it is a punchline.

 

The current Vette is the best one yet. Yeah the engine is pushrod technology. Big deal! It's the freakin' pinnacle of that tech. Let's not stoop to bashing other peoples rides just to be nasty. After reading the above link, I see some serious insecurity on the part of some of those 'Vette owners. I'm happy with my ride and can live with it's limitations.

If I had the money to drive any vehicle in the world right now, I'd choose a Z06 or 911 turbo. They are the perfect sports cars. World class performance with everyday driveability. The Lightning would still be in the stable, too.

I just can’t put the 911 Turbo in same sentence as the Corvette…

I just have never been a big fan of Corvettes and I don’t want to bash those who like them, but some of the owners need a reality check.

 

The post is a good one, some give respect some dont. I think the reason the post remains civil has to do with the level of Maturity, the average Vette owner prolly has 20-25 yrs on the average Lightning owner. Could such a post exist on this board or any Lightning board ? He(( no, look at the posts already, its getting ugly. For those of you who hate GM, its all good but who are you really fooling when you say the Vette is a POS or it sux. Those cars are way no than any Ford can offer, please dont dont bore me by bringing up the 03 Cobra. The 03 Cobra is nothing more than a 78 Fairmount with more HP and a IRS. The Vette might not have the straightline power the Current Mustang has to offer but in most tests will eat a Mustang up. Its corners better, it stops faster, it has less wind resistance and it will get you laid a hell of alot faster than any Mustang <--- (Point for the young ones) The Vette is the True American Sports car, you have to respect it for its entire package and not just what it does in straightline performance. The same goes for the Lightning, its is the True Sports Truck. Nothing can come close and hopefully Ford keeps it that way. That is the difference, to compare the 2 is ignorant because they are very different. A Lightning can carry hay, a vette is a better sportscar
